| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Saturday, September 6, 2008 Iona Mae Connin Cowan, 93, of Glendale, AZ passed away September 4, 2008. She is the widow of Elmer Campbell Cowan and is survived by her children, Ronald Dean Cowan of West Lebanon, NH and Janice Cowan Sanders of Morrison, TN. Five Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren will remember Great Grandma as a warm, friendly and vital part of their families. She is also survived by sisters, Darlene Fritz of Mesa, AZ and Jane Wilson of Lecanto, FL. Mrs. Cowan resided at the Glencroft Retirement Center for 12 years and has been an Arizona resident for the past 53 years. The Cowans had been members of the Glendale and Biltmore Churches of the Nazarene, both in the greater Phoenix area, throughout their 50 years of Arizona residency. Mrs. Cowan retired as office manager of the Totem Department Stores in the late 1970s and remained active by enjoying activities with friends at the Glencroft Retirement Center. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 9:00AM at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 4310 E. Southern Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85042 and a Memorial Service will be held at the Connin family reunion in June 2009. Donations may be given to the Friendship Foundation of Glencroft Retirement Center, 8611 N. 61st Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85302 |
