Stanley Warren Gilbert

Lake Havasu City, Arizona -

Stanley W. Gilbert, a 10-year resident of Lake Havasu City, passed
away on Sept. 27, 1997, at Loma Linda University Medical Center at the
age of 77.

He was born April 25, 1920, in Los Angeles, Calif. He formerly resided
in Ontario, Calif., where he retired from General Dynamics, Pomona, as
an engineer after 20 years. He was a World War II Navy veteran.

For many years he was a Cub Scout master and Boy Scout leader and
enjoyed camping, hiking and fishing, as well as, teaching boys how to
appreciate the wonders of nature. Currently he was an active member of
IOF Foresters No. 1742, the Sportsmen's Club of Lake Havasu and Elks
Lodge No. 2399.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; daughters, Joanne Del Nero and
husband Tom of Etiwanda, Calif., Pat Wells and husband Llyod of Lake
Havasu City, and Susan Gilbert of Clear Lake, Calif.; sons Keith
Gilbert and wife Sandra, Devore, Calif., Steven Gilbert, Alta Loma,
Calif.; and great grandchildren Lance Cpl. James Del Nero, Ryan and
Kelsey Del Nero of Etiwanda, Calif., Capt. Scott Wells, Colorado
Springs, Colo., Dean Wells, Flagstaff, Cindy Jachetti, Bakersfield,
Calif., Diane Collins, Phelan, Calif., Nancy Todd, Scottsdale, Eric
Gilbert, Wrightwood, Calif.; 11 great grandchildren; and sister-in-
law, Mary Ball, Chino Hills, Calif.

Viewing will be today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and services will be held
on Monday, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Covina
Hills, Calif., at the Church of Our Heritage. Contributions may be
made to the American Cancer Society.
