Deaf And Dumb Man Killed By Santa Fe Train
Unable to sense approaching danger on account of the fact that he was
deaf and dumb, Frank A. Bucey, who home is said to be Silverton, Ore.,
was struck and instantly killed by a rapid moving Santa Fe mainline
passenger train yesterday morning about a mile out of Ash Fork as he
was making his way along the track.
It is believed that he the dead man leaves a widow, children and
parents at Silverton.
The body which was brought to Prescott last night pending a
communication from his relatives, was without a bruise or broken bone,
death probably being due to internal concussion.
Bucey, who was in Prescott a few days ago, was on his way to Pueblo,
Colo. He inquired at both the local and the Ash Fork Santa Fe stations
about the fare to that city. The man apparently was without funds,
however, as not a cent was found on his body, and he had accosted
people on the streets of Ash Fork for money, including a Prescott man,
who after giving him a dollar; talked to him by means of a writing pad
and was advised by the stranger that he had recently suffered injuries
in a motor car accident.
A jury was summoned at Ash Fork yesterday afternoon by the coroner and
after investigating the tragedy it brought in a verdict of accidental
death.
The body is being held at the Ruffner undertaking establishment.
Transcriber's note: Mr. Bucey is buried in an unmarked grave at the
Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
