Arizona Daily Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Thursday, November 6, 1902, page 2, column 2 Ed Johnson died at the Sister's hospital yesterday afternoon after an illness of three weeks. He was about 23 years of age. P. H. Mohn & Co. took charge of the remains and at the request of the miner's union at Octave, of which the deceased was a member, will be buried tomorrow. Deceased was a native of Sweden and his only relative in the United States is a brother who is a sailor on the northern lakes. -------------------- Prescott Morning Courier, Prescott, Arizona Territory Saturday, November 8, 1902, page 3 Nearly 200 miners and friends of the late Edward Johnson attended his funeral yesterday afternoon. The obsequies were conducted by Western Federation of Miners and Arizona Labor Federation. J. P. Ryan, President of the later organization delivered the funeral address. The pallbearers were M. J. Hickey, Pat McConnell, Morris Whalen, R. E. Daly, J. P. Ryan and Henry Smith. Transcriber's note: Mr. Johnson is buried in an unmarked grave at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
