| Arizona Weekly Journal-Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Tuesday, December 7, 1909, page 5, column 2 Death Calls A Pioneer Charles Scherman, for many years a resident of this county, passed away yesterday at the County Hospital, from general debility. He was admitted to that place but a few days ago. He was one of the pioneers of Arizona, and in the memorable campaign against Geronimo he was employed in the field as a packer, while in the previous years he was also employed by the military in various capacities in the handling of animals. In later years he was a teamster in civilian life. He was aged about 66 years and a native of Germany. No known relatives are living in this country.
