Death Calls A Pioneer
Charles Scherman, for many years a resident of this county, passed away
yesterday at the County Hospital, from general debility. He was
admitted to that place but a few days ago.
He was one of the pioneers of Arizona, and in the memorable campaign
against Geronimo he was employed in the field as a packer, while in the
previous years he was also employed by the military in various
capacities in the handling of animals. In later years he was a
teamster in civilian life.
He was aged about 66 years and a native of Germany. No known relatives
are living in this country.
Transcriber's note: Mr. Sherman is buried at the Citizens Cemetery in
Prescott, Arizona.
