| Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, January 12, 1965 Jones Rites To Be Held On Tuesday Mrs. Daisy Gertrude Jones, well-known throughout the Southwest as a midwife and licensed practical nurse, died Monday in the Yavapai Community Hospital. She was born July 24, 1880 in Texas. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Skull Valley Cemetery. Rev. Merle Heatwole, pastor of the Skull Valley Community Church will officiate. Friends may call at Widmer Mortuary from 6 p.m. Wednesday through noon Thursday. Mrs. Jones who came to Prescott 11 years ago from California, was employed as a practical nurse here and in Roswell and Carlsbad, N.M., West Texas and San Diego, and had delivered hundreds of babies. A resident of Mother Warfield's Nursing Home for the past 20 months, she was a member of the Union Sunday School in Skull Valley. Mrs. Jones is survived by three daughters, Ann Osborne and Mettie Godwin, both of Skull Valley and Betty L. Riley of Congress; one son, Marshall Curtis of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Alva and Walter Kuykendall, both of Carmichael, California; four sisters, Lydia Stewart of Prescott, Edna Acrey of Cottonwood, Mary Russell of Phoenix and Winnie Widner of Tucson, 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
