| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, February 03, 2019, page 6a Marilyn R. Lummel, 83, passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at her home in Prescott, Arizona. She was born to Regina Theil and Jay Wilson Mix at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Marilyn attended grade school in Chicago and graduated from Antioch High School in 1953. Soon after her high school graduation, Marilyn attended Whitewater State Teachers College, where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Marilyn was a loving daughter, sister and aunt and cared for so many. She took care of both parents, Jay Wilson Mix, until his passing in 1960, and soon after caring of her mom, Regina, until she passed in 1967. She married Gerald (Jerry) Lummel in 1969 and owned and operated State Tile until their divorce in 1987. Marilyn took over State Tile and successfully ran the business with her friend and business associate, Robert Sanders, until she retired in 2001 after owning the business for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Regina Mix. She is survived by her brother, Bruce Mix; her nephews, Jeff (Katrina) Mix of Prescott and Brent (Paula) Mix of Show Low, Arizona. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the First Congregational Church of Prescott. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Prescott Area Shelter Services (PASS).
