Juanita Joyce Galvan was born in San Diego, California, on July 31,
1927. She was the third of five children. She was born to the parents
of Robert Edward Dodero of San Jose Del Cabo, Baja, California, and
Mackenzie Maslin Marshall of London, England.

Her brothers, Robert Dodero, Bruce Dodero and Richard Dodero have
predeceased her. She is survived by her other brother, Donald Dodero,
who still lives in San Diego with his wife, Betty. Growing up, Juanita
enjoyed playing the slide guitar, ukulele and tennis in high school.
Soon after she met and married Gregory D. Galvan, a young, handsome man
with natural curly hair, who lived just across the street from her in
San Diego in December of 1958. Gregory Galvan was born in Santa Ana,
California, in 1926, and passed on to be with the Lord in June of 2014.
Together they had five children in the span of six years: Gloria Smith,
Carol Tozer, Christine Galvan, Becky Salanoa, and Gregg Galvan. Juanita
always desired to be a wife and especially a mother. She truly lived
for her children and loved them unconditionally. She always said, “I
just wanted to have children.” She always made sure the kids were
involved in anything and everything, especially the outdoors. If she
wasn’t sewing new outfits for them, she was enjoying a nice, quiet nap
on the couch. Juanita and Greg Galvan had 15 grandchildren, 19 great-
grandchildren and one on the way.

In 1982, a Holy Ghost whirlwind swept through the Galvan family. The
Galvan children became Born-Again Christians. It entirely changed the
lives and direction of the Galvan family. Two of Greg and Juanita’s
children became missionaries and in 1990, Greg and Juanita transplanted
their lives and moved to Prescott, Arizona. This would enable them to
be in touch with their children and their families during furloughs for
bible conferences in between Arizona and California extending to the
outmost parts of the world. Through the years, they were able to enjoy
time with the family as they passed through.

On Jan. 28, 2019. Juanita Joyce Galvan left this Earth. Because of Greg
and Juanita’s love for their family and their ultimate surrender to
God, we have confidence and hope of seeing them again.

Celebration of Life will be held at The Potter’s House at 5195 AZ-89
Prescott, Arizona, 86301, at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019.
