A-5 Lamont Lee Corp July 21, 1927 - Jan. 28, 2019 Lamont Lee Corp, passed away on Jan. 28, 2019, at the age of 91 years old, while residing with his daughter and son-in-law in Las Vegas, Nev. He was born in Saginaw, Mich., on July 21, 1927. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School and then college at Central Michigan University in 1953. He also attended Interlochen Music School in 1944 as first trumpet. He married the love of his life on April 12, 1952, and was married for almost 50 years. One of his greatest loves was music. He started his own dance band (Lamont Corp and his Orchestra) in 1947 and tooted his horn until 1960. He played in many ventures throughout the Saginaw Valley. He served in the Navy from 1945-1946 at the end of WWII. He was a member of the Gemania Of Saginaw and the American Foundryman's Society. He started working at GM's Grey Iron Foundry in 1953 until he retired in 1986 as General Superintendent of production. He left Saginaw, Mich., in 1990 to live 6 months in Scottsdale, and 5 months in Au Gres, Mich., to be near both of his children. Then in 2004 he moved to Wickenburg and started a new chapter of his life. While in Wickenburg, he was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and led a very social life. Then, due to illness in 2015 he moved to Las Vegas to be with his daughter and son-in-law. He is survived by his son, Lamont Lee Corp II and wife Linda, of L'Anse, Mich.; his daughter Melode Corp Leavitt and husband Jeff, of Las Vegas, Nev.; his three grandchildren, Marcella Post and husband Jonathan, of Midland, Mich., Lamont Lee Corp III and wife Kristie, of Clare, Mich., and Candace R. Corp, of Salt Lake City, Utah. He also had two step-grandchildren, Courtney Leavitt of Los Angeles, Calif., and Rachel Leavitt of Atlanta, Ga. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Brecken Corp, Liam Corp, and Wesley Post. He was preceded in death by his wife, Monalou Corp. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. - noon on Thursday, Feb. 7 at Hansen Mortuary, located at 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale, Arizona, and followed by the funeral at noon at the same location.
