| Weekly Journal-Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, December 26, 1888, page 3.6 Mrs. Robert Brow was taken suddenly ill on Christmas morning, about 2;30 o'clock, and died at 11:30 a.m. Deceased had been up with friends, until nearly midnight, in apparently the best of health and spirits, looking forward to a happy celebration of the Christmas holiday, little expecting the sudden and dread summons which called her from earth to the unknown beyond. The cause of death was paralysis of the respiratory organs and brain. The funeral took place from her late residence on Montezuma street, at 3 o'clock this afternoon. ------------------------------------------ Weekly Journal-Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, December 26, 1888, page 3.7 Died - Brow - In Prescott, Arizona, December 25th, 1888, Mrs Robert Brow, of paralysis; age, thirty six-years. A painful gloom of sadness, which marred the otherwise joyousness of Christmas day, was cast over the community yesterday by the death of Mrs. Robert Brow, which occurred at 11 a.m., after an illness of but a few hours. Possessing in plentitude many of the noblest traits of womanhood, the deceased, by her kind and sympathetic disposition, together with accompaniment of the highest order of mind, attracted to her a myriad of friends, who will be grieved to hear of her untimely demise, while in her death the community will lose one of whose charities and benefaction have been wide spread. She leaves surviving her, four children in California, the fruits of a former marriage, who are being educated under the direction of her mother, and who have the sympathy of the entire community extended to them in this great misfortune that has befallen them. Deceased was a member in good standing of the Order of the Easter Star, Chapter No. 9, of Nevada County, California. -------------------------------------------- Newspaper Unknown December 1888 or January 1889 The wife of Mr. Robert Brow, (nee Clara Harrington) died in Prescott between 11 and 12 o'clock on the 25th inst., and her funeral took place yesterday. Deceased was born in Springfield, Ohio, April 2, 1852, and while very young went to California, with her parents, who settled in Nevada City, coming to Arizona about 5 years ago, she married, and her husband, Robert Brow, who is in business in Walnut Grove, started from that place on the 24th, with a cheerful heart, expecting to pass a merry Christmas with her, he loved so well. Knowing he was coming, she passed part of the night preparing for him, little thinking that by noon on the 25th she would have passed beyond the boundary of this life. Her friends, and she had many of them, were grieved over her sudden demise and their sympathy for her husband and the four small children that had been left with her mother in California is of the true type. |
