| Published in the Daily Miner on Mar. 26, 2019 - Kingman, Arizona - Marion F. Young, 88, passed away March 15, 2019, in Kingman, Arizona. He was born Dec. 23, 1930 in West Virginia. Marion served eight years in the U.S. Army and then dedicated the next 26 years to his career at Citizens Utility Company, working in construction until 1963 when he was promoted to foreman. That year, the family moved to Kingman, Arizona for what they thought would be temporary. Once all four daughters were attending school in town, Marion decided to reside in Kingman, Arizona and purchased property in the Butler Area for $195. Marion is preceded into death by his wife of 49 years; Barbra Young (Woods), and daughter; Fran. He is survived by three daughters; Connie, Cherri and Laura, 13 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. Marion enjoyed playing pool, bowling, horse shoes and dancing. Marion also called square dancing for over 18 years in Kingman. He and his wife danced in numerous places in Arizona, including Oatman. He was loved by many for his quick jokes, his charismatic smile and the style he always had. We will cherish the memories and miss him always. |
