Lovely Niece of Mrs F X O'Brien Dies
For the second time in the past two months the angel of death descended upon the family of Mr and Mrs C H Tweed, formerly of Ray and Phoenix, but now of Los Angeles.
Word reached Mrs A H Hammer Sunday that Miss Alice Tweed, her niece, and daughter of the C H Tweeds, Sr, passed away at her home that day, from effects of diptheria.
A younger daughter, Virginia, aged six, died of the same trouble on May 16th. The loss of this beautiful child was a heavy blow and the passing of Alice has filled the cup of sorrow to overflowing for the whole family.
Alice was a highly talented girl and was rapidly forging ahead as a classical dancer. She possessed a voice of unusual promise and was to have been trained under the personal supervision of Madame Emma Calve when sixteen years of age.
Deceased was born in Phoenix fifteen years ago and later moved with her parents to Hayden, where her talents brought her before the public on many occasions. She was a girl of charming personality and loved by all who knew her. She was a sister of Dr C H Tweed of Ray, Arizona.--Casa Grande Dispatch
