Jerome Mining News, Jerome, Arizona Territory Saturday, March 12, 1898 Wednesday morning about 11 o'clock the soul of Mrs. C. B. Matthewson, passed to that born from which no traveler e'er returneth. Her death was due to ravages of quick consumption. During her illness she had the best services of skilled physicians and the tender care of relatives and friends, and everything possible was done to save the life of the sufferer, but of no avail, and while surrounded by husband and friends passed peacefully away. The burial services were conducted at her late residence, interment in the new cemetery.
