James A. Lewis, Jr., Killed by Boulder

BISBEE, Ariz. Aug. 24--James A. Lewis Jr., assistant chief engineer of the Calumet & Arizona Mining Company, was fatally injured recently in the 1300 level of the Junction shaft. While attending to his office duties, which included the sampling of ore dislodged by blasting during the night, he was struck by a falling rock. A boulder weighing about fifty pounds struck him in the back, crushing a section of the spinal and otherwise inflicting injuries from which he died.
