SGRO, Don

Published in Today's News Herald from June 19 to June 20, 2019 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Don Sgro, born July 28, 1930, passed away peacefully at home on April 22, 2019. After serving in the Marine Corps, he went to work for the Hughes Aircraft Company. Over the next 30 years, he and his family would move to five different cities around the US. He came to Lake Havasu City in 1995. While he tried to spend as much time as possible out fishing on the lake, he was also an active member of the Havasu Marine Corps League, the London Bridge Ham Radio Association, and the NRA, and a volunteer Boating Safety Officer with the Mohave County Sheriff's Department. He will be missed by his loving family; Sharon, his wife of 68 years, his three children, his seven grandchildren, his 12 great- grandchildren, and his brother and sister. His family will host a celebration of Don's life on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Lake Havasu Hampton Inn.
