Merle Frederick Doubet, son of George Wilson Doubet and Irma Mae Harwick, was born Sept. 10, 1930. He lived in the Smithville, Trivoli and Hanna City, Ill., area for 45 years.
Merle and Donna Jene Morse, daughter of James Blaine Morse and Blanch Dikeman Morse, married on July 8, 1950. Three generations of Merle's family were blessed to celebrate more than 60 years of marriage, Joseph and Laura Doubet, George and Irma Doubet and Merle and Donna Jene.
Merle and Donna had four children, John Merle, Connie Elizabeth (Chuck Pittman, deceased), George Alan (Reta), and Denise Vivian (Kevin Owsley). They are also the proud grandparents to nine grandchildren, Jennifer Penn, Travis Pittman, Amy Pittman, Tiffany Hinton, Kristy Harre, Buck Doubet, Jessica Urgilez, Dorothy (Dee) Stephens and Rhonda McDaniel; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Merle farmed, sold insurance and operated a trucking business in Illinois for 25 years before moving to Arizona. While in Arizona, Merle was called to the mission field. He and Donna worked in Venezuela, American Samoa and throughout the United States.

Merle and Donna served with the North American Missions Board for 30 years. He built or remodeled more than 50 churches and schools with Donna by his side working with children and feeding the masses. They spent many months in travel trailers and meeting many wonderful people.
Merle also built beautiful homes in Hanna City, Ill., and Wilhoit and Morristown. God blessed Merle with amazing carpentry skills that he, in turn, dedicated to his Lord and Savior. Merle also had a passion for his family, fishing and homemade peanut butter ice cream.
Rather than memorial flowers, Merle requested that donations be directed to AZ Disaster Relief, 2240 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85257. Thank you for your love and support throughout the years.
