Dead Miner Buried After Bad Accident

JEROME, Ariz., March 14--(AP)--
Last rites were held here today for John Ferra, 48 years old, who was killed instantly Thursday when he fell 75 feet to the bottom of a shaft of the United Verde Copper company.

Ferra, a native of Arizona, had been in the employ of the United Verde for the last 18 years. He was a cementer.

Surviving are his widow, six children, three sisters and four brothers.

His was the second accidental death in the Jerome mines within a week. Mateo Reynoso, 32-year-old employe of the United Verde Extension was crushed to death under a rock slide last Tuesday.
