Ruth Elaine (Plumley) Brownell

Ruth Plumley Brownell, 92 wonderful years old, born in New Castle, Indiana, raised in Detroit Michigan, passed away April 3rd, 2011 in Scottsdale, Arizona of natural causes. She attended Stephens College and graduated from Michigan State. In 1941 she married "The love of her life" Frederic Brownell and had 51 beautiful years of marriage.

Ruth is survived by daughters Barbara Brownell Desjardins, Mary Brownell Miner, and son Burton James Brownell; six beautiful granddaughters Courtney, Katie, Carolyn, Jessica, Christa and Melissa and twin Great-Granddaughters Baili and Kirra.

Throughout her long life Ruth maintained her freedoms, while enjoying her friends, family, and the joys of her relationships. She was the life of the party, always positive, fun loving and demanded respect from all. She lived a full and active life enjoying golf, bridge and a strong faith in God. No one was a stranger. She will be sadly missed by all.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 7th at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road from 6 to 8pm with the Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5614 W. Orangewood Avenue, Glendale at 10am, Friday, April 8th, 2011. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations are made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower St, Phoenix, AZ 85014 in her name.
