CAMBERN, Fern

(Maiden Name: Ellsworth)


Fern Ellsworth Cambern died June 1, 2009, in Tucson, just 26 days shy of her 100th birthday. Fern was born June 27, 1909, in Safford (Lone Star) to Ernest and Julia Ellsworth. On Nov. 6, 1934, she married Clarence Lee Cambern, her beloved companion of 47 years. Fern lived a full life in which she raised six children and taught school for 37 years in many areas of Arizona. She moved to Duncan, in 1964 and has resided there since. Fern will be remembered for her love of children, her beautiful quilts, paintings and award-winning flowers, and her many talents that she shared with others, along with her quick wit. She is survived by three sons, James (Nan) of Willcox, Kelly (Sharon) of Duncan and Wayne of Philadelphia; three daughters, Carol Jennings (Terry, deceased) of San Diego, Marjorie Latimer (Henry) of Vienna, Va., and Virginia Pattison of Duncan; and brother Paul Ellsworth of Woodruff. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, step-grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all. Fern was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, one sister and three grandsons. Services held at the Duncan LDS Stake Center, 105 Fairground Road, Dun-can, on June 8, 2009.
