Helen A. (Easton) Catchpole, 85, of Cordes Lakes, Ariz., formerly of New Bethlehem, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002 at Mountain View Manor Nursing Home in Prescott, Ariz.

She was born Oct. 15, 1917 in Pittsburgh to Clarence and Alice (Early) Easton.

Mrs. Catchpole resided in New Bethlehem until August, 1970 and moved to Phoenix. She worked as an assembly worker for ITT Cannon Electric, retiring in October, 1980. In June, 1981 she moved to Cordes Lakes, Ariz.

Her hobbies were reading murder mysteries, especially Steven King and Dean Koontz; she enjoyed following the Chicago Cubs and Mark Grace was her favorite player. She enjoyed cooking and had a passion for dogs and cats. She also enjoyed watching figure skating, ballets and operas on television and enjoyed listening to both classical and gospel music and could play the organ or piano by ear. She had an interest in world and national events and followed politics.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, William "Bill" Catchpole, whom she married July 8, 1941; three sons, James Gordon, Charles and Mark Catchpole; one daughter, Linda Farester; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Harold.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northern Arizona, 225 Grove Ave., Prescott, Ariz. 86301.

Graveside services will be held Friday in Phoenix.
