Hannah Julianna (Lundgren) Watson

Mrs. Hannah J. Watson, whose late husband, H. B. Watson, helped get out the first edition of the Tombstone Epitaph in the 1880s, died Monday in a Glendale nursing home.

She was born 85 years ago in Sweden and came to the United States in 1905. She lived in Oakland, Calif., during the great earthquake centered in San Francisco. She came to Arizona in 1918.

Mrs. Watson was a 28-year member of Women's Auxiliary No. 69 to the International Typographical Union and a long-time member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Phoenix. Her husband also published newspapers in Phoenix and Wickenburg.

Surviving are three sons, Harry C. and Kenneth H. Watson, of Phoenix, and Edwin of La Puente, Calif., two brothers, Johan B. and Karl W. Lundgren, of Sweden; and six grandchildren.

Services are set for 3:30 p.m. tomorrow in Palms Chapel of Grimshaw Mortuary, 334 W. Monroe. Officiating will be Dr. Lyle C. Burns and Pastor David Hartman of Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.
