Arizona Republic (Phoenix, Arizona) Tuesday, January 26, 1999, p. B4 AUGUST, Jack L. "Coach", 69, beloved husband, father, coach and teacher died January 22, 1999, after a long illness. Born in Philadelphia, PA he graduated from Temple University and became a Physical Education teacher at Madison Meadows Elementary School and coached at Central High School. He taught for a combined 30 plus years. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Theresa, his daughter Kim August DeMott of San Diego; sons, Jack Jr. of Prescott, Mark of Phoenix, Gary of Gilbert, and Steven of Flagstaff; and his canine companions Tootsie and TJ. Eight grandchildren Elicia, Erik, Sam, Che', Emily, Betsy, Dakotah, and Nick. His sister Kay Bahleda of Philadelphia, PA, and brother Robert August of Vineland, NJ, and cousin Louis Wysocki of Anaheim, CA. A rosary was held Monday, January 25, 1999 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary Bethany Chapel, 710 West Bethany Home Road. Funeral Mass will be held at Brophy Chapel on North Central Avenue on Tuesday, January 26, 1999 at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Madison Meadows Athletic Fund.
