CATHERINE "KATIE" L.JONES....Owner, Nana & Co. Katie L. Jones 60,
passed away Saturday August 31st, 2002 in Lake Havasu City, Az. She
was born November 9th, 1941 in Princeville, IL., to Elizabeth "Betty"
Forke and Adrian Lindsey.
Katie moved to Lake Havasu City 12 years ago from Lawton, OK. Katie
has been the owner of Nana & Co., a unique boutique for 7 years. She
loved her customers or friends as she referred to them. Katie had a
flare for fashion and she knew how to put it all together. She was a
member of the Lake Havasu City Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #2399 and played on
the darts team. She was also a a member of the Lake Havasu City Elks
Yacht Club, where she was the photographer. Katie has been an active
member of the Republican Womens Association, Chamber of Commerce, had
been in the clothing business for over 30 years and owned and operated
her own advertising company in Lawton, OK.
Katie loved people and people loved her. She wore a beautiful smile
that would brighten up a room. Her fashion tips and trend setting
style will be missed among the streets of Lake Havasu. Katie loved to
help others, she was a hardworking, dedicated, trusting, kind hearted
person who volunteered and went the extra mile.
Katie is survived by her 3 sons and 3 daughters, Vincent S. Bruett and
wife Sharon of So. Elgin, IL., Shelly J. Bruett of Lake Havasu City,
Az; formerly of Peoria, IL., Debra E. Gathe of Lawton, OK; Lou Anne
Gilley of Lawton, OK; Chad B. Bruett of Scottsdale, AZ., and A.
Lindsey Bruett of Scottsdale, AZ; brother John A. Hootman and wife
Whitney of Danielsville, GA; Step-father Sam King and his wife Mary
Ann of Chillicothe, IL; six grandchildren, Christopher Gathe of
Denver, CO; Ferris and Timothy Gilley of Lawton, OK; Brittany Wilmot
of Marengo, IL; and Grace E. and Cole P. Bruett of So. Elgin, IL.
Elks Lodge of Sorrow at the Elks Lodge B.P.O.E #2399 on Thursday,
September 5th, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services will be held on
Friday, September 6th, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lietz-Fraze Chapel
with Rev. Steve Todd officiating.
