| Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Peter Dopulos, 83, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2003 at Havasu Regional Medical Center from congestive heart failure and kidney failure. Peter's health declined after the loss of his wife Ellen, May 14, 2003. Peter was born in Buffalo, New York on February 13, 1920. As a child Peter grew up in Detroit, Michigan, working before and after school with his father. Peter served in the Army during WWII and after his discharge he became a Professional Electrical Engineer. He was a long standing member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers. Peter moved from Michigan to California to work and teach engineering courses at UCLA. In 1978 Peter married Ellen Rode and they moved to Lake Havasu City in 1995 to retire. Peter served as Parish Council President of St. Peter The Aleut Orthodox Church in Lake Havasu City. Peter also spent the last few years as an Electrical Engineer consultant on many businesses built in Lake Havasu City. One of the family's favorite is the fountain in the English Village. Peter is survived by his loving brother, Dino and his wife Nettie; sons, Paul Dopulos and his wife Sharon, Vincent Dopulos and his wife Christine; daughters, Barbara Barnett and her husband Gregory, Kathy Ediss and her husband Ted, Leslie Haulenbeck and her husband Steve, Victoria Hoeschulte and her husband Mark; nine grandchildren, Peter, Paul, Kimberly, Kristopher, Kathryn, Jeffrey, Nicole, Michael and Stephanie; and nine great grandchildren, Max, Tealla, twins Costas and Camilla, Katherine, Phoebe, Joseph and Thomas. He is also survived by his nephew Dr. Gregory Dopulos who lives in New Mexico. He was preceded in by both parents, sister, brother, Nicholas and wife Ellen.Peter was a wonderful and brilliant man, deeply religious and loved music, especially jazz and big band. His family, who wished him to rest in peace and said he will be forever missed. A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, Sunday, August 3, at St. Peter The Aleut Orthodox Church, 2091 Sandwood Drive. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, August 4 at St. Peter The Aleut Orthodox Church with Father Lawrence Gaudreau officiating. Interment will take place on Tuesday, August 5 at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to go to St. Peter The Aleut Orthodox Church.
