Mrs. Ogden's brother, Jack Koning, died in California from head injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. He was crossing an intersection when a car pulled out in front of him and Mr. Koning's motorcycle smashed into it, as it was impossible to stop in time. Because of the accident, school was dismissed for three days.
