Fred Pisanelli, former councilman, died unexpectedly at age 51.

Wickenburg lost a good friend on September 8, when Fred M. Pisanelli died in the Wickenburg Community Hospital at the age of 51.

Mr. Pisanelli came to Wickenburg in 1959, and since that time had been consistently active in local politics and was found at the fore-front of many youth-oriented programs.

Many Wickenburg young people remembered Mr. Pisanelli this week as one of their first little league coaches, as well as an avid school supporter. He had been president of the Wrangler Booster Club for the last two years.

Mr. Pisanelli received a letter of appreciation from the Town Council in July for serving eight years on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission. From that position he worked endlessly for programs and opportunities for Wickenburg's growth.

He served on the Town Council for eight years, from 1972 until 1980.

A salesman at Bromm Chevrolet, he was also president of the Men's Club at Wickenburg Country Club.

Mr. Pisanelli is survived by his wife, Pat; three sons, Fred and Ron of Phoenix, and Mark of Wickenburg; a daughter, Pam; a grandson, Chris; two brothers, Nick and Julius of Ohio, and a sister, Dorothy Vernon, of California.

Services were conducted before an overflowing crowd at Wickenburg's St. Anthony's Church on Saturday, September 11.

Burial followed in the Wickenburg Cemetery.
