Arizona Republic (Phoenix, Arizona) Tuesday, March 19, 1918, p. 7 Mrs. Hutchinson Called By Death Mrs. Sarah A. Hutchinson, for 35 years a resident of Arizona, died last evening at 6 o'clock at St. Joseph's hospital from a general break down. Mrs. Hutchison (sic) was the widow of William P. Hutchison (sic), a well known mining man of Arizona. She leaves to mourn her loss five daughters, Mrs. Mary M. Bell of Phoenix, Mrs. Angela H. Hammer, of Casa Grande; Mrs. G. M. Murphy, Los Angeles; Mrs. Charles Tweed, Hayden and Mrs. Francis X. O'Brien of Wickenburg. Mrs. Hutchinson was born in Australia, where her father was a civil engineer, employed by the English government. As a girl she came to the United States and taught school in California in the early days. She was a close friend of Mark Twain and knew intimately all the pioneers of the golden state, whose names are now a part of its history. Mrs. Hutchison was a very bright and interesting woman and was loved and respected by all who knew her. She has many friends, both in Phoenix and Wickenburg, where she spent a good part of her residence in Arizona. Hutchinson, who died at the Sisters hospital, Monday, will be held this morning at 8:30 o'clock from St. Mary's Catholic church. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery.
