Emily Jane (Little) White

Emily Jane Little White, 85, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2004
following a long illness. She was born May 16, 1918 in Rochester, New
York, to Archibald and Bessie (Coast) Little.

Emily had a full life of achievement and adventure, her family said.
She made the most of every day, tirelessly giving to her family,
friends, community, businesses and interests, from painting and design
to gardening, exploring the desert, and collecting old books.During
World War II, she worked as a translator. She met her husband, Paul
White, and raised a family. She taught languages in the schools and
worked on student exchange programs as well as aid for disabled
children. Emily started skiing while in college and "shussed" the
slopes from the Rockies to the Alps.

Emily made Lake Havasu City her home 25 years ago, moving here from
Rochester. In Lake Havasu City, she built the Cara Blanca Apartments
and ran Billy Jane's, a popular gathering place.

Emily is survived by her sons Paul and John White of Lake Havasu City;
daughter Wendy White of Glenhaven, CA.; John's partner, Marilyn
Putzier; and Annie, her faithful dog.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Havasu Nursing Center
for their fine care. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m.,
Wednesday March 17, 2004 at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. In lieu of flowers,
the family has requested that donations in Emily's memory be made to
the Mohave Community College Library-Lake Havasu campus. Arrangement
were entrusted to the Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
