| Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Emil E. Nixon - World War II Veteran - Emil E. Nixon of Lake Havasu City died May 31, 2004 at age 89. He was born to Sibyl and Wellman Nixon on February 3, 1915 near Huntington, West Virginia. The family moved to Nehawka, Nebraska where Emil grew up and attended high school. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1934 and married his high school sweetheart Lucille Hadley three years later. Emil and Lucille were married for 64 years before Lucille passed away in 2001. Emil served for 20 years in the US Navy with active duty during World War II in the Pacifica Campaign. He also served his country during the Korean War. Emil retired from active military service in 1954 and bought a home in Long Beach, California where they lived until 1973 when they moved to Lake Havasu City. Surviving Emil are his two sons Philip Nixon of Lake Havasu City and Wellman Nixon of Winthrop, New York; two grandchildren, John and Lori Lee of Los Angeles; two nieces, Jo Ellen Kratky of Omaha, Nebraska and Alberta Rickter of Stover, Missouri. Emil was preceded in by his two brothers Ray and Thurmond Nixon. Memorial services will be at 11 AM on Thursday, June 3, 2004 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lake Havasu City. Interment will be later in the month at St. John's Cemetery in Nehawka, Nebraska. Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory. See Also: Find A Grave |
