A-5 Sean Richard Crabson, 53, left this life Oct. 29, 2019, almost two years to the day of being diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis on Halloween 2017. He approached death as he did life; head on, full throttle, with unwavering faith, and an abundant sense of humor. Sean volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, and served Denver's homeless at Father Woody's annual Christmas Party. His AB Negative blood type made him a valued and frequent Children's Hospital plasma donor. Sean was born in Baton Rouge, La., to John D. and Regina Crabson. A graduate of Wickenburg High School, Sean married his high school sweetheart Diana Ashworth in 1988. He earned an MBA at Regis University and Juris Doctorate at University of Denver. Throughout his 30-year career in the financial services industry he worked with industry leaders including American Express, Bank of America, First Data, Visa, USAA, and Walmart. In addition to his wife, Sean is survived by daughters Courtney and Scarlett Crabson, brother Tom Crabson and sister Marilyn Davis. Sean was predeceased by his parents, John and Regina Crabson; and sister Jackie Kay. Sean taught us many valuable lessons, among them: Unless it's an extraordinary, knock your socks off kind of love, you are wasting your time. Find your soul-mate, commit fully, and love unconditionally. Be yourself; authenticity is the foundation on which everything else is built. You don't have to be perfect, but you do have to be honest. Your only competition is the person you were yesterday. Don't miss the punch line. If you aren't laughing, you aren't living. Plan for the future but live in the moment. All mushrooms are poisonous. Sean's family and friends find comfort in his departing reminder: "Everything will be alright in the end. If it is not alright, then it is not yet the end." In accordance with Sean's final wishes, the family will have a private Catholic service. A celebration of life will be scheduled later this year. |
