He was born on July 24th, 1914 in Hopkinsville, KY. to John Jones and Katherine "Johnson" Jones. John moved to Lake Havasu City, Az. 20 years ago from Elgin, IL. He worked as a machinist for General Mills in W. Chicago, IL. for 25 years.He served in the South Pacific in WWII, New Guinea and the Phillipines. He also served in the U.S.Army Reserve for 7 years. John was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #940l. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Arlene Jones of Lake Havasu City, Az; son John M. Jones of Charlottesville, VA. and also his grandsons John and Jacob of Charlottsville, VA; daughter Bonnie K. Jones of Fountain Hills, AZ; brothers Jim Jones and his wife Beth of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Bruce Jones and his wife Marge of Las Vegas, NV; sister Kitty Lemenager of Kankakee, IL. John was preceded in by his brother Henry Jones, sisters Eloise Jones and Ida Jones. Interment will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens, Elkhorn, WI. Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
