Bernice Evans, an 18 year resident of Wickenburg and Congress, died on Feb. 26 at the Wickenburg Community Hospital. She was 72.

Born in the East, St. Louis, Illinois, she and her husband moved to Wickenburg in 1963 and purchased property which became known as Wheel Estates. In 1979 they retired and moved to Congress.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred Evans, Congress: a son Gene Pope, Chalis, Idaho; a daughter, Patsy Kinerling, Ft. Richardson, Alaska; a brother, Marion Wayne, Jr., Branson, Md.; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Church of Latter Day Saints on Mar. 3. Services were conducted by Alvin Hancock and Clark Ashley. Interment was in the Congress cemetery.
