A. Naughton Lane dies unexpectedly

A. Naughton Lane, who moved to Wickenburg in 1971, died Sunday at his home after a brief illness. He was 72 years old.

Well known in the community for his many and varied community interests, Mr. Lane served on the Wickenburg Library board, was a director of the Desert Caballeros, the Western Museum and the Los Caballeros Golf Club. He also served as a member of the Sherrif's (sic) Posse.

Before moving to Wickenburg, Mr. Lane retired from his position as president and chairman of the board of Monarch Metal Weatherstrip Company of St. Louis, Mo.

Memorial services will be held at St. Alban's Episcopal Church at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 14. Private interment will follow at the Wickenburg Cemetary.

Survivors include his widow, Meredith; two daughters, Mrs. Roger Smith of Boise, Idaho, Mrs. Dan Mezger of Chicago and 5 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the A. Naughton Lane Memorial fund for the Desert Caballeros Western Museum.
