Donald Mathews Moore, 62, passed away June 5, 2009, in Prescott, Ariz., after being diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease) a year and a half ago. He was born on Aug. 12, 1946, in Covina, Calif., the son of John and Marie (Mathews) Moore.
Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was often referred to as a human encyclopedia because he was knowledgeable about many things.
Donald and his wife Carol (Kimmel) shared 40 years together before his passing.
He is survived by his wife Carol; daughter Kimberly Gribble; son Patrick Moore; and daughter Kristy Whorton. His son Aaron preceded him in death.
He was blessed with eight wonderful grandchildren who will dearly miss their papa.
He is also survived by his mother Marie Moore and his six sisters, Ruth Ann Harrison, Diane Crook, Della Gallaugher, Mary Alice Grosdidier, Carolyn Keller and Donna Schauers.
Commemoration services in honor of Donald will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009, in Prescott, Ariz., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1101 Sandretto Dr. There will be a viewing from 9 to 9:50 a.m.
