Clarence Harvey McCanlies

Funeral for Clarence Harvey McCanlies, 73, of 1922 Kinyon, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Tom Hubbard, pastor of the Centenary United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mr. McCanlies died Friday afternoon at his home of an apparent heart attack. He was born July 9, 1902 at Cisco, Tex., and was married to Sarah Berneice Cannon at Walters on June 15, 1941. The couple came to Lawton in 1950.

He was a representative for Painter's Union, Local 650, a member of Hoag Masonic Lodge of Cache, and the Bass Angler's Association. He performed with several major bands and had appeared with big personalities, such as Bing Crosby and Perry Como.

Survivors in addition to the wife of the home include two brothers, Jeff, Bethany, and Vergene, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Zella Tisdale, Phoenix, and Hestalee McCanlies, San Bernardino, Calif.
