| Arizona Republic (Phoenix, Arizona) Sunday, June 9, 2013, p. B7 James R. Laughlin, 76, born in Corning, NY, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 1st, 2013. Jim served honorably in the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic from 1954-1958. An electrician by trade, he worked on the Alaska pipeline while residing in Arizona for over 60 years. Jim led a diverse life as an entrepreneur, inventor, writer, general aviator, and reserve officer for the Phoenix Police Department. He also did charitable work in his retirement years for St. Vincent de Paul's in Phoenix. A deeply spiritual man, Jim is survived by his daughters Nina and Kristy, son Michael, stepdaughter Betty, and stepson Albert. He is also survived by seven siblings, nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. in Phoenix on Friday June 14th at 9:30 am. Fly with the angels Jim, you've earned your wings. See Also: Find A Grave |
