| Arizona Daily Star (Tucson, Arizona) Friday, April 14, 1995, p. A-10 LORD, Blaine J., born May 12, 1913 in Cleveland, TN, died April 12, 1995 at his home in Avra Valley. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Verrington Lord. Survived by wife, Eula; children, Thomas (Margaret) of Showlow, AZ, George (Phyllis), Michael, and Linda Bonomi; step-daughters, Kae Avery, and Beverly McClain of Tucson; brother, Calvin (Eleanor) of Tucson, and John (Ola) of AZ; 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Lord first came to Tucson in 1929 at the age of 16. He was a machinist for Southern Pacific Railroad, before establishing Lord Well Drilling Co. He was a pioneer well driller and drilled hundreds of water wells throughout Southern AZ. In 1962 he founded Acorn Water Co. in Avra Valley, now known as Avra Water Coop. He was a World War II Era Army veteran. He also was a founding member of the John Wayne Masonic Lodge in Marana and was the Grand Master in 1987. He will be fondly remembered by his many relatives and friends. Visitation will be at South Lawn Mortuary, 5401 South Park, Saturday, April 15, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Graveside Funeral Services will be on Monday, April 17 at 10:00 a.m. at South Lawn Cemetery.
