Arizona Republic (Phoenix, Arizona) Tuesday, July 4, 1967, p. 45 Earl L. Hamilton Dies; Industrial Contractor Earl L. Hamilton, 68, a retired industrial painting contractor, who had been noble grand and grand master of Phoenix and Arizona Odd Fellow organizations, died yesterday in Good Samaritan Hospital. Mr. Hamilton, 2813 N. 25th Place, had contracted work for the Phelps Dodge Corp., Kennecott Copper Corp., and American Smelting and Refining Co. in Arizona, Texas and Colorado. He had been secretary and noble grand of Floral Encampment 2 of the IOOF in Phoenix and was grand master of the Arizona Canton 1 of the IOOF in 1952. Mr. Hamilton was a member of Rebekah Lodge 1 in Phoenix and chairman of the board of trustees of the Odd Fellows Grand Lodge of Arizona since 1952. Born in Martinsville, Ind., he moved to Phoenix in 1917. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Grimshaw's Bethany Chapel, 710 W. Bethany Home, with the Rebekah and Odd Fellow lodges assisting. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Jewel; a son, Maj. Earl B. Hamilton of Kailua, Hawaii; a daughter, Geraldine F. Hamilton; and a brother, Marriel, both of Phoenix; and three grandchildren.
