| Daily Journal (Ukiah, California) Wednesday, January 9, 2019 Philip David Moynahan, 88, of Ukiah, passed away peacefully in his sleep and surrounded by those he loved on 11/28/2018 in Ukiah, California. A celebration of life will be held at Ukiah First Presbyterian Church on 1/12/2019 at 11:00am. Phil was born in Phoenix Arizona to Francis and Evelyn Moynahan on 12/31/1929. As a young man, just 17, Phil joined the United States Air Force and was honorable discharged 4 years later. He married Joanne O'Laughlin in 1956 and had 4 sons. After Joanne passed away, Phil remarried Marge Boynton-Moynahan and they were married for over 20 years. Phil was a pilot and mechanic. For several years, Phil was a crop duster and he worked on airplane engines as a mechanic. When he moved to Ukiah with his late wife, he opened a repair shop for small engines and he remained there through his retirement. Phil was an active member of Saint Mary's Catholic church for many years as well as Ukiah First Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Elk's Lodge and he helped the Veterans of Ukiah get to San Francisco for their healthcare needs. He was an avid fisherman, he enjoyed the outdoors, and he loved to find adventure. Phil leaves behind his loving wife Marge as well as many people who loved him. The family of Philip wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Werra, Ukiah Valley Medical Center, Eversole Mortuary and Hospice of Ukiah for all of their help during the end of Phil's life.
