Cheryl Estelle Berg, born Cheryl Estelle Sullivan, joined the Lord,
peacefully in her sleep, on July 13.

Cheryl was born on Dec. 2, 1946 to Thomas Charles and Cleo Hartman
Sullivan in Arcadia, California. She grew up in Arcadia with a loving
extended family. She was very proud of her years at Anokia school in
Arcadia. She graduated from Arcadia High School in 1964. She also
attended Pasadena City College and was proud of her civilian work for
the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Following the loss of her
father, Tom, in 1963, she welcomed her stepfather, William Kuyper,
into the family with his three children.

Cheryl married her beloved husband Arlan in February 1974, and joined
him in Kingman, Arizona, where they made their home. She firmly
supported Arlan in his career at the Kingman Police Department and his
many civic and community responsibilities.

Upon arriving to Kingman Cheryl picked up her civic duty on the Mohave
County Sheriff’s Department. After leaving the sheriff’s department
Cheryl went to work for Leonard and Gracie Neal and enjoyed almost a
decade under their employment.

Cheryl also enjoyed serving on the Mohave County Arts Council, the
Kingman Parks and Recreation Commission, and the Mohave County Fair
Board, among many other civic endeavors.

Though she served those organizations with pride, her true passion was
best expressed in her love of agriculture through the Mohave County
Cowbells’ and the Cooperative Extension 4-H program. Cheryl served the
children of Mohave County for almost two decades as a 4-H club and
project leader and was a President of the Leaders’ Council.

She often counted one of her greatest accomplishments as the formation
of the 4-H Travel Club, where she shared her love of travel with
children across the country.

She remained an active supporter of 4-H throughout life, especially at
the annual livestock auction, where she and Arlan continued to support
the children of Kingman. Though she loved her community, her greatest
passion was her family and friends. Cheryl joined her parents,
stepfather, stepsister Debbie and many other beloved grandparents,
aunts, uncles and cousins in Heaven.

She will continue to be loved and missed by her beloved husband Arlan;
daughter, Amanda Evans (Dan); son, Erik (Amber); grandchildren, Thomas
Evans, Coy, Blakelee, and Rylee Berg; brother Kevin Sullivan (Patti);
step-brother Bob Kuyper (Katie); stepsister Kathy Tanamachi; several
nieces and nephews; cousin Estelle Seaton, and many other cousins and
special friends.

Kingman friends held most dear to Cheryl include Becky Gross and
family, Tiffany Leo and family, and the many “bonus children” she
collected over the years through Amanda and Erik.

Due to COVID-19, a celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held at a
later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Cheryl’s name
to Mohave County 4-H Leaders Council and the Arizona Cowpunchers
Crisis Fund, PO Box 277, Humboldt, AZ, 86329.
