| David’s Desert Chapel Funeral Home, Wickenburg, Arizona Dennis Fontenot December 11, 1952 ~ June 14, 2020 (age 67) Dennis Howard Fontenot, age 67, passed away in Phoenix, Arizona, on Sunday, June 14, 2020. Dennis was proceeded in death by his infant daughter, Michelle Denise Fontenot, his mother and father, Anita Yvonne Delacerda Fontenot and Howard Herman Fontenot, Sr., his maternal grandparents, Maisie Marie Salard Delacerda and John Albert Delacerda, his paternal grandparents, Maude Jeane Burns and Oliver H. Fontenot, and his brother, Richard Lee Fontenot. Dennis was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on December 11, 1952. He was a resident of Mohave Valley, Arizona at the time of his death. He served his country in the United State Air Force from 1975 until 1978 at which time he joined the Air Force Reserve. While in the Air Force Dennis served under the Thirteenth Air Force - United States Air Force Pacific Air Forces and was deployed to Thailand. Dennis was awarded the Air Force Commendation Metal, Air Force Good Conduct Metal, National Defense Service Metal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon. After his discharge from the Air Force he worked for and retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons where he also served as a fire arms instructor. He is survived by his wife Pamela Kay Nichols Fontenot, his daughters, Adrienne Smith of Hillsboro, Oregon, Amanda Reynolds (and husband Stephen) of Vancouver, Washington, Ashley Fontenot of Portland, Oregon, and Keerra Huddleston of McMinnville, Oregon, son, Zachary Nichols of McMinnville, Oregon, grandchildren, Mya Smith, Joseph and Maisie Reynolds, Olivia, Kaleb and Nolan Nichols, Kelen, Lucas and Karsyn Nichols, brothers, Howard Fontenot (and wife Elaine) of Rosepine, Louisiana, Charles Fontenot (and wife Nancy) of Buma, Texas, Darrell Fontenot of Carencro, Louisiana; sisters Lecia Fontenot Carnahan (and husband Keith) of Opelousas, Louisiana, and Teresa Fontenot-O’Dell (and husband Gary) of Devil Swamp, Louisiana. Dennis’ family is honoring his request that he be cremated and that no funeral services be conducted. A private memorial service will be held for immediate family at the time of placement of his Veterans headstone in Emmanuel Cemetery in Chopin, Louisiana. See Also: Find A Grave |
