| Marsha Jean Penrod November 12, 1948 ~ July 7, 1963 To the children of God, the Lord does instill In their hearts many different traits To some He gives honor or pride or health To others He gives courage or wealth But to a fortunate few, whom He has chosen to be His special couriers of love He awards all the virtues that man can conceive And to these adds the virtue of love. Not the love of a maiden for the knight of her dreams Nor the love of a mother for her child But rather to me, the Lord it does seem Makes all of these traits into one A love that embraces all of the world And the many creatures of God The love of man for his fellow man The love of God for His Son My sister was one of these messengers of love Sent down from the heavens above To bring the tidings of joy to all of the world And to all the messenger of love Her mission accomplished, the Lord He did then Recall her to heaven up there To sit at His feet at the base of His throne And give her His love and His care Yes the Lord needed someone to lighten the way For the good souls to follow, He reaps every day A light that is bright and will glisten and shine To guide all the strays to this kingdom of thine Where the weary can rest and the troubled find peace Where all pain and sorrow and misery cease The brightest beacon I know on this pathway of thine Is the light shining brightly from this sister of mine Marsha Jean to the world, was the essence of love All things most tender in time The most wonderful sister a man ever had This little kid sister of mine In memory of my sister Marsha She was loved dearly Lenford R.
