| Published in Today's News Herald on Dec. 20, 2020 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - The gentle hands of our Lord lovingly reached out and took Bill Love, 95, of Lake Havasu City, home to be with Him on December 15, 2020. He was born April 20, 1925 in Drumright, Oklahoma to Alfred and Opal Love. Bill grew up in Hays, Kansas, owned and operated his own oil field trucking business, and flew in SBD Dive Bombers in the South Pacific, while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. Returning home, he graduated from Oklahoma A & M, and became Central Service Manager for Sears, in Denver, Colorado, where he worked for 31 years. Bill married Adaline Scheuerman, December 16, 1950, and together made Lake Havasu City their home 30 years ago, coming from Denver, Colorado. He was an amazing Christian man, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather; dearly loved his Lord, family and friends; and was always praying for and ministering to others in need. Bill was a member/deacon of Applewood Baptist Church, Denver, Colorado and later Lake Havasu Baptist Church, Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was very active with Gideons International for many years. Socializing with family and friends, golfing, fishing, camping and reading were some of his favorite hobbies. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of nearly 61 years, Adaline; son, Roger; grandson, Levi Hans; and sister Carmen Houser. Bill will be dearly missed by his beloved family: daughter, Peggy Hans (Jim); granddaughter, Jessica Hans (Steve); of Lake Havasu City; granddaughter, Heidi Love, of Hawaii; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was called home to Heaven just in time to spend his 70th anniversary with his beloved, Adaline Love. Because of the approaching holidays and COVID-19 concerns and protocols, a celebration of Bill's life will be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideons International for Bible distribution around the world. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16 |
