Helen Marie Bucchino (Castelhano), of Lake Havasu City, formerly of
Hopedale, Massachusetts, died peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020 at
the Casa Grande Assisted Living Facility with her loving husband Fred
of 65 years by her side. Helen and Fred lived in Lake Havasu City
since 1982 when they moved from Hopedale.
Helen was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on March 2, 1936. She was
the daughter of the late Helena, (Castelhano) Bentubo and John
Bentubo. She was raised by her foster parents, Joseph and Mary Damplo
of Medway, Massachusetts since she was seven years old.
After moving to Lake Havasu City, Helen worked on the CAP, (Central
Arizona Project) of Arizona then for the McCulloch Corporation Plant
for 13 years as an Environmental Engineering Administrative Assistant.
When it closed she attended and graduated from Mohave Community
College with a score of 4.0. She then worked as a legal secretary for
Wachtel, Biehn and Malm and later as a MLS Coordinator the Lake Havasu
Association of Realtors before her retirement in June 2003.
Helen was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting gifts for her family and
loved the outdoors. She enjoyed bus trips to Laughlin on special
occasions and daily walks at Rotary Beach Park with her beloved
husband and best friend. She was also a family camper for years.
Helen leaves four children, daughters; Laura and husband Anthony
Zingarelli of Webster, Massachusetts, Joanna and husband John Martinez
of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, sons; Fred Bucchino Jr of Kingman,, Joe
Bucchino of Milford, Massachusetts, many grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, foster parents, foster
sister; Mary Sambuchi of Framingham, Massachusetts, Antanet M Shaw, of
L.D., New York, foster brother; Dr. Anthony Damplo of Natick,
Massachusetts, her brother; John Castelhano of Pelman, New Hampshire,
Armindo Castelhano and sister; Holda (Castelhano) Reshetalo of Ohio.
Arrangements were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and
Crematory and Memorials may be sent to the funeral home.
