| Published in Mohave Daily News Online on Mar. 7, 2021 - Bullhead City, Arizona >> JON DAVID RUNYAN << Jon Runyan of Laughlin, Nevada, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 13, 2021. He was born on July 24, 1956, in Los Angeles, California to Richard and Patricia Runyan. He grew up in Lakeview Terrace, California and graduated from Verdugo Hills High School where he played baseball and football. After graduation, he moved to Santa Maria, California, where he attended Allen Hancock College and studied Forestry. During the summer he worked at San Antonio Lake where his passion for being on the water was inspired. At age 21 he moved to Jackpot, Nevada to begin a career in the gaming industry. Eventually, he moved to Bullhead City, Arizona, Laughlin, Nevada, Golden Valley, Arizona, and Phoenix, Arizona. He spent over 44 years as one of the best Gaming Dealers you could have ever met. He loved his children, grandchildren, family, and friends. He had a special way of making you feel like you were the most important person in the world when you were with him. His passion for music and the water was never-ending. You would often find him on the Lake or the River with his Guitar in Hand. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Runyan; and two sisters, Lori and Linda. He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Williams, Emmylou Runyan; stepson, Cody Thornton; grandchildren, Ronan, Aiveen, Dakota, Jayden, Karma, Karisma and Karista; mother, Patricia Runyan; brother, Dale Runyan; sister, Darlene Kirk; and partner, Carole. Services will be held at 2:00pm (Nev.Time) on Friday, March 19, 2021 at the Riverside Resort, Starview Room.
