| Published in The Arizona Republic from Mar. 10 to Mar. 11, 2021 - Phoenix, Arizona - Helen Charolotte Davis of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on March 7, 2021. Helen was born May 27, 1932 in Janesville, MN. She will be deeply missed by her loving family; children, Michael L. Davis (Terri), Daniel K. Davis (Linda), Mark B. Davis (Mimi), Susan L. Gerdes, and Jane M. Davis (Steven); grandchildren Hunter Davis, Brittany Samora (Chris), Jordan McAlister (Eddie), Angela Thomas (Cody), Lorissa Knight (Doug), Reannin Smith-Gerdes and Tyler Deming- Gerdes, Tyler Smalley (Arianne), Krysten Piazza (Dino), Tanner Smalley (Amanda), Mariah Smalley, Teresa Smalley, Micah Smalley, and Caleb Smalley; great grandchildren Jadelyn and Karlee Samora, Dylan and Carter Davis, Annabelle McAlister, Jacob, Aidan, Ronan, and Elsa Thomas, Rylan and Alexa Knight, Ezra, Issac, and Lincoln Piazzo, Milo Smalley, and Xander Smalley. Helen was a devout Catholic with an abiding faith in God. She will be fondly remembered for an unending love for her family, her faith, and a passion to care for others. Helen graduated from Saint Marys School of Nursing in Rochester, MN. Her career as a Registered Nurse included caring for patients at Arizona Children's Hospital and at Carl T. Hayden Veterans' Administration Medical Center. Immediately following retirement she became one of the founding volunteers of Mission of Mercy, where she cared for those in need for another 20 years. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Saint Maria Goretti Catholic Church on Friday, March 12th at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Saint Francis Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
