Marjorie Ann Kaufman was the first born to George and Bertha Kaufman
on July 3, 1948, in Glendive, MT. Marjorie spent her younger years on
the family farm. The family moved to Quincy, WA, where she graduated
from Quincy High School in 1966 (Jackrabbits). After graduation, she
moved to Seattle where she attended medical school. Marjorie has 5
siblings, Ernie, Conrad, Bill, Patty, and Donald.

Marge met Robert E. Smith while he was in the United States Army. They
married in Quincy in 1969, and they later moved to Mount Vernon, WA.
Three years later, they had their first of three kids, Kimberly, then
to follow Robert Jr. and Kristina. Marge worked at the Skagit Valley
Medical Center in medical records, and Robert Sr. was a Deputy Sheriff
in Skagit Valley. A funny story Marge often shared with her family was
about when she was a young child. She would always have to walk
through the snow, barefoot, out to the outhouse in Glendive.

In 2002, Robert and Marge moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ. Two of their
grandchildren lived in Arizona (Lauren and Katie), while the other
three lived in California at the time (Maleah, Kalin, and Hailey).
Marge continued to work in the medical field in Lake Havasu.

She retired from her career in 2010 due to a stroke. She continued to
enjoy being around family, watching the Seahawks, going to Mariners
spring training games, watching her grandkids play sports, and
traveling with her mother and sister.

Marge was diagnosed with cancer in May of 2020. Sadly, she succumbed
to her illness on January 14, 2021, where she was surrounded at home
by her loving husband, kids, friends, and her beloved kitty. Marge was
a kind, loving, and family-oriented woman who is greatly missed.

Please join us to celebrate Marge's life on Thursday, April 8th, at
1:00 pm, at Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3163 Maricopa
Avenue, Lake Havasu City, AZ.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Western Arizona
Humane Society or to Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church, both
located in Lake Havasu City, AZ.
