Richard Robert "Dick" Samp, 74, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2007 in
Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on May 3, 1933 in Algona, IA; to
Kenneth W. and Elaine Nita (Issacson) Samp. After obtaining his
Bachelor's degree from Cal-State Northridge, Dick was drafted into the
United States Army, serving from 1956 to 1958.

On October 5, 1957, Dick married Mary Louise Allman. Dick and Mary Lou
moved their family from Placentia CA. and made Lake Havasu City their
home 31 years ago. Dick worked as the Director for the Parks and
Recreation Department in Lake Havasu City for 11 years. He was a
charter member of the Lake Havasu Rotary, member of the Arizona
Outdoor Recreation Coordinating Commission, having been appointed by
Governor Jane Dee Hull, member of the Arizona Bowling Proprietors,
Lake Havasu Men's Bowling Association and was a past owner of Havasu
Lanes.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Lou Samp; sons,
Kenneth Samp of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Douglas Samp and wife Zilka of
Guam, daughters, Patti Lynn Samp and husband Mark Wolocatiuk of
Petaluma, CA; Donna Marie Carroll and husband Greg of Corona, CA;
mother, Elaine Samp of Hemet, CA; brothers, Wayne Samp of Hemet, CA;
Jerry Samp of Moore Park, CA; and grandchildren, Lauren Carroll, Ryan
Carroll, Andrew Samp Wolocatiuk, Savannah Samp and Steven Samp. He was
preceded in death by his father.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church
on Saturday, June 2, 2007. Words of comfort and inspiration will be
expressed by Rev. David Richardson. Military honors will be presented
by the V.F.W. Post #9401 and American Legion Post #81.
