| Published in Mohave Daily News Online on Mar. 31, 2021 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Janet "Nana" Dunigan started her journey September 27, 1954 in Bangor, ME. She left us peacefully on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Janet was the second born of a large family of 10 brothers and sisters. She resided in Bangor, Maine for many years, had her three daughters and decided to make the long journey to plant roots out in Arizona where she raised her daughters and met and married the love of her life, James Dunigan and continued growing her family with the precious births of all of her grandchildren. She worked as a waitress her entire life by choice. She loved seeing and greeting her customers daily and always noticed if her regular customers missed a day of lunch or maybe a breakfast visit. She was a giving woman and would always make sure everyone she met had what they needed. Janet was a Daughter, Sister, Mother, Wife, Friend, Nana and most recently a Great-Nana. She was famous for her perfect Christmas cookies she baked year-round and always had the biggest bowl of candy at home for anyone who might have needed a few little treats. She enjoyed playing bingo, going out for breakfast as that was her favorite meal, and bringing dog treats to all of her favorite dogs in the family. The amount of extended family and friends are too long to list. She accepted everyone just how they were without question. She leaves behind a tremendous presence that will never be filled. Janet was preceded in death by her father, John J. O'Neill; mother, Phyllis Stone; brothers, Daniel O'Neill, Eddie O'Neill and Jimmy O'Neill; brother-in-law, Jeff Kramer; granddaughter, Aron Hart Tackett; and her nephew, Timothy O'Neill. She is survived by her husband, James Dunigan; daughters, Samantha (Brian) Rice, Bridget (Ty) Phifer and Janet Espinoza; siblings, Peggy O'Neill, Roberta (Jim) Gildart, Kathleen Kramer, John O'Neill, Ellie O'Neill and Timothy O'Neill; grandchildren, Katelyn (Gary) Pletcher, Gavin Pletcher, Brytin (Francisco) Fesler, Tarryn Fesler, Austin Rice, Cody Rice, Baylee Brooks, Liberty Tackett, Annabelle Espinoza and Abigail Espinoza; great-grandson, Roman Alamilla; among many nieces and nephews, so many to list, but Janet could have listed them all with no trouble. A celebration of life will take place at 3 pm on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Coveu Drinkery and Eatery located at 2247 Clearwater Drive, Bullhead City, AZ 86442. There will be a prayer, a tribute and an opportunity for anyone to speak and share their fondest memory they may have of this great lady. Food will be provided after the tribute and the family is requesting you stay and visit with them as they would like to celebrate the amazing life Janet leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you donate dog treats to your local rescue or shelter being that the majority of her "Granddogs" were rescues and she never missed a visit with them without her bag of "Nana Treats". |
