| Published in The Arizona Republic from Apr. 19 to Apr. 20, 2021 - Phoenix, Arizona Mesa - Catherine B Bowman (nee Gerhart), formerly of Palatine, IL, passed away peacefully in her home on April 11, 2021 at the age of 93. Catherine was born in Chicago in 1927, the youngest child of Michael Gerhart and Anna Jerger. She attended St. Michael's Parish Church Schools. She married the love of her life, Robert Bowman, raising their 3 children in the home they built in Palatine. Catherine worked various positions in District 211 Food Services until her retirement. She enjoyed westerns, casinos, and especially traveling back east to be with her family. Survivors include her 3 children, Barbara (John)Wojtysiak of North Carolina, Richard (Janet) Bowman of New York, and Patty (Terry) Clark of New York; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Celebrations of her life will take place later in Mesa and Palatine. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her name to BrightFocus Foundation, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
